ONLINE website has announced the upcoming release of a new Michael Schenker disc guide book titled "Michael Schenker: Revelation of Divine Light" (tentative English title), scheduled to coincide with his 2026 Japan tour. This publication provides an extensive overview of Michael Schenker's career and recorded works, covering his complete musical history in detail.

The book is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, priced at 2,640 yen (tax included).

Michael Schenker Interview in Young Guitar Magazine: The latest Young Guitar magazine (November 2025 issue) features a detailed interview with Michael Schenker. The interview was conducted in English and translated into Japanese for the article, so please note that when translated back into English, some expressions may differ from what Michael originally said.

In the interview, Michael discusses the following topics:
- The three-album project with earMUSIC: My Years with UFO, Don't Sell Your Soul, and Freedom of Expression, which were part of the initial contract.
- On Don't Sell Your Soul: he wrote lyrics for two personal songs - "Don't Sell Your Soul" and "It's You." The former carries a message about staying in a happy place and not being blinded by money to avoid tragedy. He said it reflects his own life.
- The album artwork was suggested by earMUSIC after he shared the title, and Michael liked the somewhat eerie atmosphere of their idea.
- The ending of "The Chosen" reminded him of Tom and Jerry, where the cat and mouse face off, inspiring him to use an "Energy Howler" style to create that chase-like feeling.

Regarding the upcoming Japan shows in January 2026:
- The Budokan concert will be recorded and filmed for a future anniversary release.
- The setlist will consist exclusively of UFO songs, as it is part of the My Years With UFO tour.
- Tour offers have come for both My Years With UFO and MSG.
- There may be special guests in Japan - perhaps even ones Michael himself hasn't been told about yet.

Other updates:
- The black-and-white Gibson Flying V reissue is still in production, along with another Flying V he will personally use for live shows and recording.
- A Michael Schenker signature Cry Baby pedal is being released by Jim Dunlop.
- A Michael Schenker Photo Book featuring photos taken by Ross Halfin is planned for publication.
- "So many things are happening," Michael said. "I sometimes have to ask my son Tyson (who manages me) to keep track of them all."

Full Concert Video from Wacken Open Air Now Available: Michael Schenker's "My Years with UFO" performance at Wacken Open Air 2025 - held on July 31, 2025 - is now available to watch in full via Magenta Musik.

The set features a powerful collection of UFO classics, including "Doctor Doctor", "Rock Bottom", and "Lights Out", and highlights two major surprises that thrilled fans on-site and online alike.

Guitar legend Slash made a special guest appearance on "Mother Mary," joining Schenker on stage for an unforgettable rendition. Additionally, the show marked the "live world premiere" of "Don't Sell Your Soul," the title track from Schenker's newly announced MSG album due October 3.

Further information has been revealed via a new Facebook post from Ward Records. The album Don't Sell Your Soul, set for a simultaneous worldwide release on October 3, with the Japanese edition to be issued through Ward Records. It will be a special edition commemorating Michael Schenker's upcoming Budokan show. Marking the 45th anniversary of the Michael Schenker Group, the record features all-new original material.

The album showcases the soaring spirit and signature riffs that define Schenker's legacy, and introduces powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall (H.E.A.T, Skid Row) as part of the lineup. Backed by a solid core band and featuring several special guests, this release is positioned to be one of the most anticipated hard rock/heavy metal albums of 2025.

Michael Schenker Revisits 1988 Guitar World Interview: This is not the latest interview, but it hadn't been introduced on this page and is too good to miss. Earlier this year, before the Monsters of Rock Cruise, Michael Schenker sat down for a video interview revisiting his classic feature in the January 1988 issue of "Guitar World" magazine. The discussion covers a variety of topics including his thoughts on tapping technique and the evolution of his signature Flying V guitars-at one point even using a model with a Kahler tremolo arm. He also mentions that his new Gibson signature model had already been completed and was ready at the time of the interview. It had to be "looked at by him" and used for rehearsals ahead of his April European tour.

Michael appears in great spirits throughout, smiling and laughing often. When asked about future plans, he mentions the 2025 tour schedule and talks about the then-forthcoming Japan tour-officially announced in April-which could possibly include further surprises due to "more money being around." He hints at potential special guests and even shares that he's planning 10 years ahead, looking forward to celebrating 50 years of MSG.

Roberto Dimitri Liapakis to Front U.S. Tour: According to an official announcement on Michael Schenker's Facebook page, Roberto Dimitri Liapakis ("Lia") will serve as the lead vocalist for the upcoming U.S. leg of the "My Years With UFO" 50th Anniversary Tour in September and October 2025.
Liapakis is a seasoned frontman known for his work with Devil's Train and Mystic Prophecy, and has been a major force in the European metal scene for over 30 years. After stepping in for Erik Grönwall during the Madrid and Barcelona shows, he now joins the band full-time for the American run.
We look forward to seeing Lia bring his powerful voice and stage presence to audiences across the U.S. this fall!

Erik Grönwall Returns to the Tour: According to Michael Schenker's and Erik Grönwall's Facebook posts, Erik will be rejoining the tour in Wolverhampton on May 8, 2025, after a short absence due to a family emergency. We're glad to hear that he's back on the road and wish his father a full recovery.

Due to a family emergency, Erik Grönwall had to leave the European tour shortly before the final shows. Erik will be back on stage with us in Wolverhampton on Thursday, May 8th.
We're very grateful to Roberto Dimitri Liapakis "Lia" for stepping in so spontaneously for the shows in Madrid & Barcelona.

Back on the Road! Starting tomorrow in Wolverhampton, I'll be back on tour with @michaelschenkerrocks with the best band @stevemann.music @barendcourboisbass and @bodoschopfdrums.
It's been a tough time - my dad is still not out of the woods but after spending some meaningful days with him, he pretty much ordered me to get back out there.
He was a musician himself back in the '70s, and with a smile he reminded me: "The show must go on."

After the first show in Spain, Erik Grönwall has had to step away from the "My Years With UFO - 50th Anniversary Celebration Tour" due to personal reasons.
However, there's a chance he may rejoin the band for the UK dates later on.
In the meantime, Roberto Dimitri Liapakis will take over lead vocals for the remaining shows.
Liapakis is a seasoned performer and will also be joining Michael Schenker next year at Rock Meets Classic.
He's a worthy replacement, and you won't want to miss the rest of this incredible tour!

Sometimes life draws a hard line between stage and home. Twenty minutes before the show in Vienna, I got a call from my family and friends - my dad had been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, unable to stand on his left leg. Fast forward to today, and it's been decided he'll undergo heart surgery. There are risks involved due to his age and health history and the doctors have been transparent with us, and while there's hope, there's also uncertainty. I�fve made the decision to fly home today (Sunday May 4th) to be by his side - to support him, my family, and to be fully present for whatever comes. In the meantime, the Michael Schenker tour will continue according to plan, and I�fm incredibly grateful to vocalist Roberto Dimitri Liapakis (Lia) for stepping in to cover for me. What this means is that I won't be doing the shows in Madrid and Barcelona but I plan to rejoin for the UK shows, and I'll keep you posted. Right now, I need to show up, not as a performer, but as a son. Thank you for your understanding.

Herman Rarebell Hints at Possible Tour With Michael Schenker: In a new interview with Blabbermouth.net, former Scorpions drummer Herman Rarebell revealed that he recently recorded an acoustic album with Michael Schenker. More Michael Schenker Festival Dates 2025: I missed posting these but Michael Schenker with My Years with UFO set will perform at Rockwave Festival on June 28 in Greece, at Midalidare Rock festival 2025 on July 12 in Bulgaria, and at Riverside Festival on August 23 in Switzerland. Also, it appears the date for the Hellsinki Metal Festival has been fixed for August 9 although this date is not shown on Michael Schenker's official website yet (cf. 03/01/2025 update).

He reveals that he will tour Japan in 2026, including a show (or shows) at Budokan. Gibson 80s Flying V: Gibson Japan posted on their Facebook a photo of Michael Schenker with his Gibson V guitar which was taken while he was in Japan last month, and the details of the Guitar Michal Schenker uses are shown on their website, but without his name in there.

More Michael Schenker Festival Date 2025: According to the festival website and Dragon Productions, Michael Schenker with his "My Years With UFO" set will perform at Hellsinki Metal Festival which will take place on August 8-9, 2025 in Helsinki, Finland.

Also according to the festival website, the date for Michael Schenker's performance at Alcatraz Open Air 2025 has been fixed for August, 10, although it's not shown on the Dragon Productions' website.
