Michael Schenker concert in Hamburg (Germany) at the Fabrik / 2025-04-10
Michael Schenker is accompanied by his old pals Steve Mann (guitar, keyboards), Bodo Schopf (drums) and Barend Courbois (bass); the new singer, Erik Grönwall, completes the line-up for his current "My Years With UFO" European tour. The second gig of this tour took place in Hamburg at the Fabrik. The band was well-rehearsed, and they played without any flaws or insecurities; a very good sound transferred their outstanding musical abilities. The gig was sold out with 1200 enthusiastic fans; most of them were older than 50 years, and many of them have probably seen Michael playing with UFO in the 70s. The set list contained 70s song material by UFO without any exception. The "Strangers In The Night" classics "Natural Thing", "Only You Can Rock Me", "Doctor Doctor", "Mother Mary", "I'm A Loser", "This Kid's", "Lights Out", "Love To Love", "Let It Roll", "Shoot Shoot", "Rock Bottom" and "Too Hot To Handle" were performed, of course. It was a very pleasant surprise to hear nearly forgotten jewels like "Can You Roll Her", "Reasons Love", "Hot'n'Ready" and a medley of the instrumentals "Lipstick Traces" and "Between The Walls". Michael played very concentratedly, and he dedicated "Too Hot To Handle" to his deceased UFO colleagues Pete Way and Paul Raymond. Erik Grönwall has given new energy to the old songs with his relatively young voice and vivid stage presence. This was a very intense concert experience!

Michael's wife Ayako filmed the entire concert on her smartphone. Maybe a new blu ray will come out soon 😅😂 The chemistry between them is strong ❤️ - in Hamburg, Germany.
