New Michael Schenker Release: Michael Schenker will soon be releasing a very limited edition CD which he recorded himself back in 1979. It has never been heard before and will be limited to only 1000 copies. It is going to be part of a wider package which includes having your name printed on his new signature guitar. Michael Schenker Personal VIP Package

Michael is proud to announce a very special opportunity to his fans. We will be releasing Michael Schenker's Personal VIP package shortly.

This package will include an unreleased - never heard before - CD which features a recording Michael Schenker made in 1979. Michael plays guitar and bass on all tracks, he even sings on some of the tracks. This makes it a very unique and special recording. Michael says this about it.

"It's a 14 track Demo I wrote and recorded by myself in the Dieter Dirks' (Scorpions Producer) mobile studio whilst Rory Gallagher and the Scorpions were recording next door.

It was going to be material for my first Solo Album. There's some Instrumentals and I even sing on a few. Ringo Funk helped out by playing drums on some tracks. He was the drummer in a famous German Band at the time called Atlantis.

I recorded this after I left the Scorpions Lovedrive Tour in '79. Some of this material I rehearsed later with Joey Kramer and Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith. Some of it I rehearsed with Gary Barden, Billy Sheehan (Bass from Mr. Big) and Denny Carmassi (Drums from Montrose)."

As part of this, very personal package, a once in a lifetime chance to have your name printed on Michael's new guitar model is also available. This is strictly limited to 1000 names. Michael Schenker's new Dean Signature model and will be available to purchase once created. This has not been done before and will never be repeated again!

Michael Schenker's 'Howler' technique is described on an instructional DVD along with the tool he uses to create the distinctive sound.

I rehearsed tonight for the upcoming MSG Tour. I basically go into a studio, crank up the setlist and let it fly...it feels good to sing at full volume!! I did it last night & tonight. Honestly last night went better for me but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I will get stronger as time goes along. Due to a four year battle with a recurring Acid Reflux and the nasty Stomach Bacteria, HP, Robin McAuley has now been diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia and requires surgery and can no longer participate in the upcoming MSG fall North American tour by doctors order.

Robin has released this statement in regards to this desicion.....

"In light of the upcoming MSG shows beginning early October 2012, I regretfully am forced to cancel my appearance with Michael Schenker. I expect to be back in the saddle soon as this is taken care of but it's important for all the fans to know how very disappointed I am. I make a point of staying healthy and always ready to meet the challenges of each day as it comes. This is one of those days I rarely have to confront, but here it is nonetheless. I promise to be back at ya! Real soon! Be well, all of you, and thank you for your support.”

The MICHAEL SCHENKER "Temple of Rock" North American Tour will continue with DAVID VAN LANDING replacing Robin on vocals who has been the cornerstone of MSG tours in the 90's as the lead vocalist and most recently was featured on the MICHAEL SCHENKER sold out tour of South America in 2011. Michael Schenker is happy to have him on board for the second leg of the North America tour.

Hi Ritchie

It has been around 4 months since we have the pleasure of playing for you guys in Tokyo at the Sun Plaza. What a great time we had playing there two nights in a row! Well the new U.S. Michael Schenker tour kicks off in October in California with the schedule still being solidified. I will tell you that the lineup is the McAuley Schenker lineup including myself on bass, Pete Holmes on drums and of course the great Wayne Findlay.

In addition to some new songs from the March tour I am proud to say that we at Dean guitars has just produced a very special guitar for Michael that he absolutely loves. I will say no more. They will be available for sale later in the year.

We will play NYC, Chicago, Texas, Canada and many places in between. We will play with our friends from Queensryche on some shows which will be great as well.

Michael Schenker to Receive "Rock Guitar Legend" Award!!: According to the Vegas Rocks website, Michael Schenker will receive "Rock Guitar Legend" award at this year's Vegas Rocks Magazine Awards.  Michael Schenker's current band goes under the name Temple of Rock and boats an impressive line-up that also features ex-Scorpions stars Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz on drums and bass respectively, Michael Schenker Group stalwart Wayne Findlay on keyboards and the magnificent Doogie White (ex Rainbow / Yngwee Malmsteen) on vocals.

Temple of Rock 2013 will include a plethora of hits spanning Michael Schenker's colourful career.

Songs will include UFO's Rock Bottom and Doctor Doctor, Michael Schenker Group's Armed and Ready and Into the Arena, and the Scorpions classics Another Piece of Meat and Rock You like a Hurricane. In addition, Schenker will perform songs from the recently released Temple of Rock album alongside other solo favourites such as Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Miss Claustrophobia and Hangin' On.

Synopsis of Michael Schenker Video Interview: Jigal kindly sent me his comments on Michael Schenker's video interview with Rock Invasion (see 07/04/12 update) for those who don't understand German. Thanks, Jigal!!!
I also would like to comment on Michael's video with rock invasion (your update from 4/7): Besides spreading his general message about temple of rock (how he came up with the band members, the meaning of temple of rock, celebration of hand made rock etc) Michael added some extras which are not part of his usual interview. The interviewer started with mentioning that Michael had several ups and downs in his carear. Here Michael chipped in and explained that everyone has ups in downs in his life and that nearly everyone once walked drunk on the street. According to Michael his problem is a certain allergy which makes him feel the effect of alcohol too much so that he got in trouble. There was another critical question by the interviewer about Michael's signing sessions in the 1990s when he signed after the show which were purchased at his merchandise desk at the shows and the fact that it was possible to order signed CDs at a higher price. Michael said it was the first time he was conscious of business affairs. Until the last record of McAuley Schenker Group he never made any money. When he started his own company he saw money coming in but he had no idea how much to charge for his merchandise. So he just tried it out. Then he made several philosophical excurses on how the life of people is determined by circles or spirals just like the stars and planets of the universe.

MSG San Francisco & Santa Rosa Shows Photos: Our Axe @ axeslinger.com has uplaoded some photos from the first two shows of MSG's U.S. tour. He has many more to edit and videos to upload. He'll write a review for both shows too! Our Skid drove Michael to the airport. James Hetfield was @ The Mezzanine gig and hanging with them up in the green room.
