Hi Ritchie,
Here is my review of the Glasgow gig.
What a great night in Glasgow, I don't think I have ever seen Michael looking so happy/at ease when he has been playing since the early 80's, he looked like he was actually enjoying himself.
Surrounded by such a great bunch of musicians, they could hardly go wrong.
Kicking off with Into the Arena then just a straight run of one much loved song after another, there were a few missed/mumbled words in the lyrics by Doogie but he's pretty new to the band and otherwise did a magnificent job, great vocal range. He hardly needed to sing a chorus as the crowd did it for him.
For the encore Doogie encouraged the audience to sing a rendition of Flower Of Scotland the official national anthem.
The only disappointment of the night was there were no cameras allowed so no photos or video, cameras had to be handed in at the door!!
Setlist was Into The Arena, Armed And Ready, Lovedrive, Another Piece Of Meat, Cry For The Nations, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, Coast To Coast, Assault Attack, Before The Devil Knows You're Dead, Lights Out, On And On, Let It Roll, Shoot Shoot, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Rock Bottom
Encore: Holiday, Blackout (solo by wayne), Doctor Doctor
Exit one very happy crowd.
Support band Exit State were ok nothing startling, was amazed by the array of pedals the guitarist used but still had a crap sound!!Just plug the bloody thing into a Marshall.
I must be getting old as my ears are still ringing about 12 hours later.
Rob
