Fantastic show again tonight. Crowd was on fire. Band is tight. Francis and Herman are really having a good time. It shows on their faces. Blackout and Hurricane guitar solos by Wayne. Changed up the set list a little from last nite. Added Lights Out but took out Armed and Ready and Victim. New songs sounded great too. You can tell Michael has really turned a corner and loves interacting with the crowd. Lots of smiles all around.

Michael Schenkers Temple of Rock, April 4th, 2015, Corona, Calfornia, USA.....

Here is my humble review of the show.......

As some of you know I'm a huge sports fan, The Final Four landed on this day but it got trumped by Michael Schenker coming to town, we'll sort of like 45 miles from me in Corona,Calfornia at the M-15 (which is a great venue). My cousin, Jimmy who sings in a local LA band Hot Box (who are bad ass) accompanied me because what've been to many shows and dig the same music plus he's cool as hell . As we toll down the 91 Freeway East As we approach Yorba Linda , it brought back memories for me since I lived there for 10 years and had my children there, it was surreal. Jim and I do what we do best, listen and talk music especially Schenker.

By the time we hit the 15 south we had 6 miles to travel, I look around at the landscape and say" this ain't my Long Beach" ha ha! We get to the venue and Will Call is just a table(this truly ain't The Whisky) so I give the fat dude my name and he can't find it,so I calmly say "Why don't you check the other list?(duh)" and viola there I am Einstein! Some people!

They're were 4 bands, before Schenker. Great! (sarcasm) so the first band, who we caught in the middle of their set had a good guitarist, but We were there for Mikey..I went to get a coke( not some coke, the 80s are over) and rolled to the smokers patio while Jimmy watched the band. I don't smoke, I quit 6 years ago,but the fresh air was great. I posted to this tread that I was here and I get a response from Don from Rancho Cucamonga saying he's there near the merch desk, I try to find him to say hello, but couldn't find him I IMd him and he comes down to say hello..cool dude, he was in the VIP room with his woman. We spoke about drag cars and Schenker, I guess they go hand in hand.. I missed the second band and opted to chill in the patio, but from what I heard I was better off in the Patio. So. Sit thru a few more bands finding out that Mikey is coming on at 11:15... Really?... Wow, it's gonna be a long night....

So before Mikey comes on I jockey my way with my cousin to get a closer view, but stage left is piling up because our rock god is gracing us there.I see this gorgeous lady in the first row, it's looks like my buddy Sandii, she looks at me and blows me a Kiss ..oh the guys in my section couldn't keep their eyes off her, she has that effect..Lights go off, it's a packed house, intro music I see Wayne, Herman, Francis and Doogie take their positions, everybody going crazy...Then appears Michael, looking great with his million dollar smile and trademark Dean guitar Flying V, Wayne starts playing that oh so common intro and the crowd is going ape shit and so am I! Doctor Doctor baby! OPENING...off we go! It was great seeing Mike look so happy playing to the crowd, high fiving fans tossing picks. By the third song the UFO nugget Lights Out, the band was hitting their stride. I was really impressed by Doogies vocals and Herman's drumming on such a bare bones kit, single bass a few cymbals, less is more..after a new song...then it came what all of us were looking for 3 Scorpion songs in a row..Lovedrive first, you could see the smile on Francis face while jamming on his bass, it was great seeing him on these shores after many years. The next one caught me by surprise, Coast To Coast, the instrumental off the Lovedrive album, it was a great thing! Schenker tone was off the hook as usual, extremely impressed..moving right along the new songs and nuggets blended well together. The their highlights for me were, of course, Rock You Like A Hurricane with Wayne lead guitar and Rock Bottom to end the set...

Encores of Holiday and Blackout, amazing.

It was a great show, the only drawback No MSG songs from the Barden days and no Natural Thing , but Jesus can't have it all plus The Scorpions songs were a major plus. After the show talked to the band, very nice guys Doogie White was awesome telling jokes and admitting to my cousin Jimmy that he forgot the lyrics to Rock Bottom, I thought his mike went out! Too funny, plus we got pictures of Doogie after the show. Simply Awesome...

Set list thanks Sandii Simental...
