Hi Ritchie, I have been reading your site for many many years but this is first time I've sent anything in. I have been a Michael Schenker fanatic since I first heard UFO when I was a teen. ( I'm 46 now). I have seen Him with UFO on the Walk on Water Tour, we saw 3-4 shows up and down the California coast and have seen MSG many times. But I feel the show in Oklahoma City was as special as Ive ever seen. So I thought ID send you some notes on it. I do not have the set list exactly, but I remember the highlights.

We made the 5 plus hour trek from Kansas City to Oklahoma City to see the second day of the Rock N America festival at the OK City Zoo Ampliteatre. The line up was, Scorpions headlining, Cinderella, Michael Schenker Group, Firehouse, Steelheart ( with Rev Jones ) LA Guns ( the Tracii Guns version) John Corabi, Pretty Boy Floyd and Motorchrist. Of course the buzz was all about MSG. After the openers we made our way to front row to watch Michael. We were excited to see Gary Barden since we haven't seen him with MSG since the 80s and to see Carmine Appice drum was magical. The rumor was Herman "The German" Rarebell was there and going to play a song with the Scorpions. Then Dean, Wayne and Gary took the stage, Carmine climbed behind his kit and the crowd went crazy. Then he walked out, there was Michael Schenker, I had brought my wife of course , a huge Schenker fan herself, and my 13 year old rocker son who had seen the Scorps but never MSG. Michael gave the crowd a smile then they broke into Armed and Ready, from the first cords you can tell the band was tight tonight, they played better than I have ever seen them. The set list was mostly all from his early Cd's , with songs like On and On, Cry for the Nations, Ready to Rock and Into the Arena along with many more. Then, the announced a special friend would play drums on the next song, Herman Rarebell came out and played on Doctor Doctor..WOW...it was amazing. By this time the sides of the stage was packed with musicians in awe watching their god play like the god he is. I saw, Don Dokken, James Kottack, Lita Ford, all of Ratt, Eddie Trunk ( of VH1 ) Tracii Guns ( who went wild loving it) and many more. Eddie Trunk said Rudy and Klaus were with him watching as well. It was by far the best I have seen him play and he looked GREAT. But the night wasnt over. We decided to stay front row and watch Cinderella ( an excellent set ) but really be there for the Scorpions. We are sure glad we waited. They were amazing , as usual. But of course, what we were all praying for happened, Klaus said we have family with us tonight, please welcome on the stage Mr. Michael Schenker..WOW...they kicked the heck out of Another Piece of Meat with Mathis and Michael jamming leads back and forth, as far as I can remember Michael hasn't been on stage with the Scorpions in the USA , well, if at all, its been forever!!!! That was magical history. The Scorps of course brought out Herman who played No one like you with them, and had James Kottack AND Carmine Appice playing cowbell standing behind him. This was by far a Schenker fans dream night. One I will always remember.
