Last night's show at Sheffield continued the trend of what sounds to be a run of top-notch performances by Mr Schenker & co. Some navigational difficulties meant I didn't arrive at the packed Boardwalk in the heart of Sheffield until a few minutes before the band hit the stage - just enough time to fight my way through the few hundred people who had squeezed into what is essentially an elongated pub, to find a decent vantage point.

A slight confusion seemed evident as the band first strolled onto the small stage before Michael walked to the front, acknowledged the crowd with a high 'thumbs-up', which was met with a roar of approval from the crowd before the band tore into a blistering 'Assault Attack' - to my reckoning, aside from 'Angel of Avalon' from the 'Tales of Rock n Roll' album, 'Assault Attack' was the most recent song played all night - a fact that suited me - and, by the sound of it, the several hundred others assembled in the Boardwalk. The hits just kept on coming, with UFO classics (Let It Roll, Lights Out, Rock Bottom, Doctor Doctor) rubbing shoulders with classic MSG songs (Are You Ready To Rock, On and On, But I Want More, Into The Arena, Attack of the Mad Axeman). Great performances from the band, but mainly from the man himself - not a bum note in sight and big smiles all night. Great stuff!

Cheers

hi ritchie was at sheffield last night another great gig, the band were excellant Michael played a blinder every note crystal clear, i was lucky enough to be at the front and could see the band were all enjoying the show. Michael did a solo in rock bottom and stuck his tongue out at his long time friend Alan who was stood next to me then smiled this was a different person to last year. The set was the same as the rest of the tour again Mad Axe Man stood out for me as did Rock Bottom. Everybody i spoke to said what an amazing gig this was. A special mention to the bass player he was shit hot and a good backing vocalist. Only downside Michael left straight after the show and didnt sign autographes but at last we were treated to a night to remember...cant wait for Friday and also the tour with Gary this will be the icing on the cake fo any MSG fan....Best Wshes Andy B
