MSG played phenomenally well this night. The band took the stage at about 11:15 pm or so. Michael never sounded better to me and I have seen him a number of times over the past 20 years - I wonder if those Dean Guitars had something to do with it :) He also seemed really happy to be there. He played many of his signature songs including Armed and Ready, On and On, Let It Roll, Doctor Doctor, Lights Out, Rock Bottom, Too Hot Too Handle, Only You Can Rock Me and many others. He also played some newer tracks like Dust to Dust. All of his songs sounded great. The only disappointment for me was Into the Arena - I came to hear Michael and not to hear some lame drum solo and a bass riff that was bearable audible.

I think Michael is one of the best if not the best guitar players on the planet. His solos were perfect and his band played well overall. I think the lead singer (Jari) is excellent. His style was very similar to his own idol (Ronnie James Dio). I think the bass player is fine, but I think Rev was a notch above the other bass players that Michael has had (O.K. Pete Way and Chris Glen might better).

Overall, the crowd was enthusiastic to see him. I was also impressed with the number of MSG fans that I talked to that night. While the place was not a sell out, it was still a fairly good size crowd that night. I am little sad to hear that Michael has had to cancel his shows, but I'm glad I got to see him on this final night before stopping.

I don't have any pictures to post, however, the website of the club posted many pictures and here is the link for the pictures: http://eckssaloon.com/2007/06-28-MSG/slides/p6284816.html

Cheers! Dave
