Just like Micheal said himself in a recent interview. It was a journey to get here to this point. They couldn't have got here, be happy, and content, without going through all of the trials and tribulations of the past.
I feel lucky to have taken the journey with them all throughout the years just being a fan. We were talking about this the other night right before the show.
1979 was a great year for me! I was a junior in high school when I heard Lovedrive for the 1st time. I then went on to discover all of the early Scorpions and came across Lonesome Crow. It's still as fresh today as it was the first time I heard it. It is iconic! I never get tired of it.
It was shortly after that I discovered UFO Strangers in the Night and all of the other great UFO albums. I was an immediate Schenker fan as were all of my friends.
I didn't get to see the Scorpions until 1984. It would be another another 20 years before I had a chance to see MSG in San Antonio at the Rock Quarry in 2004, then again in 2010. The last time was ToR in 2014 in Oklahoma City in a shitty little bar.
This time was the biggest treat for me. I never ever thought I would ever get to see all of these original vocalists singing their own songs! Much less singing and backing each other up. We couldn't pass this chance up for the meet and greet. It's still surreal to think I had the privilege to be in the presence of such greatness all together in one room.
My head was spinning at the time and I didn't actually get to give each one of these guys the heartfelt thank you I wanted to express to them all.
A special thanks to everyone who made this happen! Thank you! We will never forget it!
