Last night was literally the greatest night of my life (I've never been able to definitively say that about any night, ever! But now I can!) I was within 3 feet of Schenker for 99% of the concert. My jaw was on the floor the whole entire show. It was quite humbling to stand in such close proximity to someone I've admired for so long...having your idol literally stand over you and play a show for 3 hours isn't something that everyone gets to do, so I'm VERY thankful for that. Very special to make eye contact, smile with, and even just touch the hand of someone like this. The man plays with more soul than you can even comprehend, its just so special to see someone so in the zone with their music.
All my years of listening to Schenker's work, obsessing over every detail of his playing, ranting about him to people on social media and in person, and the thousands of dollars and hours I've spent collecting memorobilia, came together in a beautiful symphony last night. I'm so high on life and lucky to have had this experience, alongside great friends and fellow fans. I've turned many people on to Schenker's music over the years, and I encourage everyone to give his work a listen because it is truly something that has shaped me into who I am today. I will never forget this night. My emotions are running so high!!!
