Hey, just got back from a festival weekend. Saturday was the Alcatraz festival, with Temple of Rock. They did a very good show. It was a bit a shame they were not higher on the bill. I posted two links were you can see pics... I don't like to stand behind people who take pics on shows, and the pro do it better anyway. As I said, I'd loved to see them later on the day, I think they deserve it. But, it was even nice to see it was the show with the most people (musicians) standing at the side of the stage, watching with open mouth.

Wahh else shall I mention: a string break in Natural Thing..., and a Rock Bottom solo with (for me) new elements in it since the last time - the one-handed part extended version.

Dougie White wore a funny t-shirt, without knowing. It had 'Awesome' written on it. And the regio of the festival is West-Flanders where the people speak with an accent even I don't understand. When they say: awesome, it means 'breath'. As you see here.

Yesterday I went to the Dranouter folk festival and saw, among others Calxico. Anyone know the link the this fansite?

Michael Schenker is announced as "special guest" of the festival being the legendary guitarist he is and probably because Temple Of Rock was the only hard rock band of the weekend.

Setlist (setlist.fm)
Intro
Doctor Doctor
Live and Let Live
Lights Out
Vigilante Man
Natural Thing
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Lovedrive
Lord of the Lost and Lonely
Rock You Like a Hurricane
Rock Bottom

The show kicked off around 5PM, no time for a full set so many fans wanted more. Temple Of Rock fans know by now it's a mix of MSG/ToR,UFO & Scorpions, loads of tunes to choose from and we all know songs we will probably never hear.

"Doctor Doctor" used to be the last song of the set but since a year it's the opening song, good choice, party from the start guaranteed.

"Live And Let Live", "Vigilante Man", "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and "Lord of the Lost and Lonely" are the Temple Of Rock tunes of the day, 4 out of 10 is great.

"Lovedrive" and "Rock You Like a Hurricane" are the Scorpions part and these probably got the loudest response from the crowd, uncle Herman didn't have to teach the drill smile emoticon "Rock Bottom" closes the set, a nice combination of singalong and solo time.

There was no meet & greet with TOR but Wayne and Doogie saw me in the crowd, just as good for me, next time, next show in Belgium!
