Concert Report by Alain & Sylvie Michael Schenker at Kulturetage, Oldenburg, Germany May 9, 2013 Added on 05/10/2013
Hi to all,
Going to Oldenburg was not easy but as soon as we were there, we had a wonderful sun and the town itself is small and pretty. The venue "Kultur-Etage" was only a few meters from the hotel and as it was public holiday, all the people take place in the bars and restaurants to take some good time.
We saw the band arrive for the soundcheck and we speaked to Chris Appleton from Absolva, the leader of this band tells us the history of the band, which was great !
The good thing about seeing a band on tour is that some people recognize us from the year before or even the day before, so if they wants to speak to us or asks questions about the tour, they often come before and after the show. This time, no exception, we meet Markus Hagner, a photographer who's doing a great job with all sorts of bands. Thanks to him !
The people came very late at the venue but it was not a problem because there was a technical problem during the soundcheck and doors opened with a 30 minutes delay. However, the manager of the venue let the people came in and thus we has plenty of time to see the merchandise and have some talk with the manager of Absolva.
Absolva begin on time and played the same songs as the day before, included a song that will appears on their second album due at the end of 2013, "Never back down".
Like in Koln, there were no space between the stage and the people so it's always a pleasure to see Michael's playing so near. Only a few centimeters to see the magical parts of songs like "Lights out", "Let it roll" and of course, the majesty of the guitar solo in "Rock bottom".
We're heading now to Verviers, Belgium and it's well known club called "Spirit of 66", we're sure it will be again a fantastic journey and evening !
Hope to write again tomorrow !
