Hi Ritchie

Great gig in Edinburgh last night. It's a small venue but there was a big crowd squeezed in.

Support act Virgil and the Accelerators opened the show. A three piece led by an enthusiastic young guitar player.

Michael and the guys hit the stage at 9pm and went straight in to Lovedrive. Same set list as the recent gigs. The band were really tight and treated us to nearly two hours of classic UFO, Scorpions and MSG. Difficult to pick out highlights but personally I really enjoyed the run of UFO songs from Lights Out to Too Hot to Handle. And I think Michael brings something new to Rock Bottom every time I see him play it. Last night's version was stunning.

I think Doogie White is the best vocalist Michael has worked with since Gary Barden at his peak (early 80's). He covers the various different songs really well and is good with the audience.

A special word for Wayne who has been with Michael for around 10 years now and been through many ups as well as a few downs. He really is the perfect foil for Michael and holds the whole thing together. Excellent solos on Rock You Like a Hurricane!

Chris Glen joined the band in Edinburgh to play bass on Armed and Ready.

Finally, the best thing for me is that I can now go to these gigs confident that Michael will a) turn up and b) put in a stellar performance. I think he is truly at his peak now and has never played better. Long may it continue!!

Best wishes

Les
