Concert Report by Paul Michael Schenker at High Voltage 2011, London, U.K. July 24, 2011 Added on 07/25/2011
Hi Ritchie, quick note about Michael's set at High Voltage yesterday. Managed to get to 15 feet from the stage during the set up which was just as well as the arena filled up quickly as 4pm arrived and a banner with the Temple of Rock cover on rose from behind the amps.
With Herman on drums and Michael, Wayne and Elliott emerging from behind the amps, they were off and running with Into the Arena. Michael Voss came in for Armed and Ready and Another Piece of Meat. Rudolph arrived for Rock You Like a Hurricane and How Long (I think) from Temple of Rock with Doogie White doing the honours on Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Pete Way joined in for Rock Bottom and Doctor Doctor. Jeff Scott Soto was in the mix for Dr Dr as well. Sure I've missed something.
Michael Voss worked the stage really well as did Doogie White, Michael and Rudolph set the place alight, Wayne was great while Elliott and Herman were a really solid backline. Great set that brought the crowd in from all points of Victoria Park. The guys worked really well together and seemed genuinely delighted with how well they'd gone down.
Set off the day for me.
Paul
