Official Dates Changed and New Dates: MSG's U.S. tour schedule has been changed as follows according to Michael Schenker's official website.

Fresh off a triumphant sold-out tour of Japan, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP is returning to the U.S. and Canada for a summer tour. The legendary guitarist will be performing timeless classics from all stages of his illustrious career, including SCORPIONS, UFO and MSG, to commemorate his "Tales of Rock 'n' Roll", which is out now. Support on all dates will come from San Francisco-based guitar virtuoso Doug Doppler, signed to Steve Vai's Favored Nations label. This tour will run June 17 to July 21. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP's current touring lineup is as follows:

Wayne Findlay (guitar, keyboards)
Jari Tiura (vocals)
Bodo Schopf (drums)
Frank Rummler (bass)

MSG Kiev Show Review & Photos: A review and cool photos of the MSG show in Kiev which took place in March 1 can be found on this website. It's all in Russian. I studied Russian for two years when I was a university student, but I am ashamed to have forgotten everything!? It seems that the gig went very well. The author describes each member's performance positively, and the culmination of the show was Michael Schenker with his unique techniques and melodies. The audience in Kiev apparently were happy with the show. Thanks for the info, akio!!

MSG in Tokyo (Second Night): Tonight's show was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Everything was amazing. I hope to write a short review with photos sometime soon.

Thank you, Wayne, Jari, Bodo, Franky, Kai and other people concerned for the great show and for your warm welcome!! And I highly praise Michael for his superb playing on the last two shows. He has proved that he is still "the God" rgardless of whether he likes to be called so or not. And the last but definitely not the least, I thank Zak Coporation for inviting MSG to Japan and making every effort for these successful shows.

[02/25/07 update]
MSG in Tokyo (First Night): I just got back from MSG's show in Tokyo which was the rescheduled date for the cancelled November 17 show where they played only first three songs. Tonight's show went really great!!! Michael Schenker played much better than he did in last November. He seemed very focused almost all the time and played many killer solos. Wayne and Jari did a great job as always. And, Bodo and Franky have familiarized themselves almost completely with all the songs in spite of the fact that they joined the tour in such short notice. Hopefully I can post more photos in the near future.

After the show, Michael signed his autograph for (reportedly) about 500 fans who bought the merchandize. I look forward to the second show in Tokyo tomorrow night.

Live Entertainment Award 2007: As was reported here on 01/14/07 (update No.2), Michael Schenker Tour 2006 was nominated for the Live Entertainment Award 2007 in the category of "best club tour" through Live Entertainment Award (LEA) Committee. Winners were announced on February 15 and unfortunately the award went to Revolverheld.

MSG Lineup Fixed and Kiev, US, UK Shows Planned: Kai Michelmann at International Concert Service GMBH (ICS), the booking/management company of Michael Schenker Group (MSG) has made a statement about the current situation of MSG. (cf. 01/16/07 update)

"after all criticism and confused statements about the current situation in case of Michael Schenker Group's future we should announce, that everything has cleared up and the planned gigs in Japan and Kiev will happen with the following line-up:

MSG Lineup!? and Nomination for Music Award: The website of International Concert Service GMBH (ICS), a management/booking company of Michael Schenker Group, states that Michael Schenker Group's lineup is:

Michael Schenker, Jari Tiura, Wayne Findlay, Bodo Schopf, Barry Sparks.

As many of you know, Bodo was a drummer of McAuley Schenker Group and Barry played bass on Written In The Sand and some other live albums of MSG. It has to be confirmed whether this is the current lineup and they plan to come to Japan next month with this lineup.

ICS has also announced on their website that the last MICHAEL SCHENKER TOUR 2006 has been nominated for the Live Entertainment Award 2007 in the category of "best club tour" through Live Entertainment Award (LEA) Committee. This award is given to distiguished achievements in the live-entertainment of 14 categories every year. The awards are to be announced on February 15.
