UFO Video 2: I've got a message from Eddie Lee saying that:

Hey, I'm selling a Hong Kong only UFO DVD called "Too Hard To Handle - The Story of UFO" on my web site. It's a No-Code DVD which means you can watch it with any DVD players regardless of where you are:

http://www.geocities.com/yesmusic/hkvcdvd.htm

Take a look if interested.
Cheers,
Eddie
P.S. It will be great if you can mention it on your webpage, thanks!

It looks like it has the same contents as the above Toshiba video.

[05/11/00]
MS Playing Techniques: The June issue of Japanese YOUNG GUITAR magazine has an article on Michael's playing techniques on his instrumental materials including Into The Arena, Captain Nemo, Open Gate, Old Man W/ Sheep on Mars, Three Fish Dancing, and Aardvark in A VW Smoking A Cigar.

MSG Remaster Bonus Tracks: The details of bonus tracks for the MSG digital remaster series are as follows:

"The Michael Schenker Group" 3 bonus tracks: Armed & Ready (Live), Into The Arena (Live) (both taken from 12" single), and Cry For The Nations (Radio Edit)

"Assault Attack" 1 bonus track: Girl From Uptown

"Built To Destroy" 5 bonus tracks: Rock My Nights Away, I'm Gonna Make You Mine, The Dogs Of War, Captain Nemo, Still Love That Little Devil, and Red Sky (all taken from the original mix version)

"Rock Will Never Die" 6 bonus tracks: Cry For The Nations, Rock You To The Ground, Courvoisier Concerto, Red Sky, Looking For Love and Armed & Ready (all taken from the 83/10/23&24 Hammersmith Odeon Live Shows)

"Perfect Timing" 1 bonus track: Gimme Your Love (7" Version)

"Save Yourself" 3 bonus track: Save Yourself (Single Edit), Anytime (Single Edit) and Vicious (taken from 12" picture record)

"M.S.G." 1 bonus track: When I'm Gone (Single Edit)

In addition, "One Night At Budokan" will also be released within this year with some unreleased materials as bonus tracks.

[05/08/00]
MSG Live: According to Bella Piper, the information on the MSG's 05/08 show at 4TH & B is a false rumor and Michael's name was misused by Ticketmaster for unknown reasons.

[05/07/00]
MSG Live: According to Ticketmaster.com, MSG will play live tomorrow night (05/08 8:00-) at the venue called "4TH & B" in San Diego, CA and ticket is sold at the price of $19.50. However, at the 4th & B's own website, another event is listed for that day's schedule.

[05/06/00]
MSG Remastering: According to an ad published by Toshima EMI, MSG digital remaster series will be as follows:

(To be released on 05/24)
- The Michael Schenker Group (incl. 3 bonus tracks)
- MSG
- Assault Attack (incl. 1 bonus track)
- Rock Will Never Die (incl. 6 bonus tracks)
- Perfect Timing (incl. 2 bonus tracks)
- Save Yourself (incl. 3 bonus tracks)
- M.S.G. (incl. 1 bonus tracks)
- Nightmare - The Acoustic M.S.G.

(To be released on 05/31)
- Built To Destroy (incl. 5 bonus tracks)
- Anthology
- "Unplugged" Live

Very fortunately, there will be lots of bonus tracks. I personally guess that The Girl From Uptown will be included in A.A., not-remixed original numbers will be added to B.T.D., and those included in the Hammersmith Odeon live video will be added to R.W.N.D album. However, I don't have any specific information on these bonus tracks at this moment. Only regret is the release of One Night At Budokan seems to be indefinitely postponed.

MS Interview: The June issue of Japanese player mangzine has an interview with Michael. There seems no new or intriguing information because recently almost all major Japanese hard rock maganizes have conducted interviews. Michael mentioned that he originally planned to tour Japan with both Keith Slack and Kelly Keeling, but due to the delay of Kelly's work on his solo album, only Keith will accompany MSG.

[04/28/00]
UFO New Album (Correction): According to Shinjuku Records, the corrected information is that UFO's new album titled "Covenant" will be released on July 21 (instead of 26). Only for the first press, the double CD would be also available (a new album coupled with a live album recorded at Buffalo in 1998 instead of the greatest HITS album).

[04/27/00]
UFO New Album: According to Mr. Toda's news page (in Japanese), he got the information from Shinjuku Records that UFO's new album will be released on July 26 from Nippon Crown label. Only for the first press, it will be a double CD (a new album coupled with the greatest-hit album).

[04/20/00]
MSG Remastering: According to Toshiba EMI, the release date of the MSG digitally-remastered titles except One Night At Budokan will be slipped for one week to May 24. The date for Budokan has yet to be fixed because the negotiation on making it double CD is not going well. In the worst case, it would be released as the original is in terms of the track listing. Only the Budokan might be released after MSG's Japanese tour.

UFO New Album: According to the information posted on U.F.O. 2000 mailing list, their new album is due out in July/August and will be titled Covenant.

[04/17/00]

[04/14/00]
MS Inteview In Guitar Magazine: The May issue of Japanese Guitar Magazine has an interview with Michael. He spoke about AOTI and other things including the following:

- Aynsley Dunber participated in the recording of AOTI because he was Michael's favorite drummer when MS practiced drum by copying Aynsley's playing. That was when MS was 17.
- When asked how many Flying Vs does MS have, he answered three: #1 (the one he uses as a main guitar on the stage), #2 (the one with drum stick inside the neck of the axe, i.e., repaired with the stick), and #3 (the one with clearner-tone pick-up).
- His own stuidio in Scottsdale, AZ will be completed late May.

[04/10/00]
MSG Digital Remastering Cont'd): The digitally-remastered One Night At Budokan album is slated to be a double-CD, which makes us expect some bonus tracks.

MS Inteview In Young Guitar: The May issue of Japanese Young Guitar magazine has an interview with Michael. He spoke about AOTI and other things including the following:

- On his way to the studio where the UFO's next album was being recorded, Michael got slightly injured in a car accident. He was talking on the cellular phone while driving. One of his guitars was broken and his van was crushed like a crushed alminium Cola can. He said he was about to repeat the tragedy ocurred on Cozy Powell.
- Unique titles of the songs in AOTI were taken from Mike Verny's jokes.
- Michael's part of the recording of UFO's next album was already finished.
- He is now in the midst of songwriting of his next electric instrumental album called Michael Schenker 2000.
- At the Japanese gigs in coming May, he will play some songs from AOTI and The Unforgiven.

Michael Schenker Tribute Live in Tokyo: This is somewhet off topic and only for those who live in Japan. Some Japanese amateur bands are planning a Michael Schenker Tribute Live on May 13. In this event, Michael tribute band called Assault Attack will play about 20 MSG/UFO materials. Please check out the information page (in Japanese) and their playings at the reheasal studio (RealAudio).
